In case you missed it, our PR person, Karen, arranged with the local TV station in Asheville to interview us for its Person(s) of the Week segment. Before we left on Oct. 6 to come to Florida to visit friends and then to Columbus, Ga., to do a three day bike ride, we were interviewed at home and in the RV by Larry Blunt, the news reporter/anchor for WLOS Channel 13 Asheville. The segment aired last night (Friday, Oct. 10) on the 6pm news. You can see the video of the airing by going to this web site:
It was a good interview and it included all of us–Mike, Georgie and Quincy. We believe it fairly and accurately described our trip and the emotional things that we got out of it. Please take a few minutes to see this video.
Currently we are in Columbus, Ga,. on a bike ride with BRAG (Bike Ride Across Georgia). Yesterday we did 60 miles and today it was 40+. Tomorrow we have another 40 mile ride. Sunday night we will head to Macon, Ga., for dinner with Evan, a cyclist we met at the top of Rainey Pass, Washington, while we were on the bike ride across the US. His friend and ours, Paige, will join us. Paige has been corresponding with me from the beginning of our trip, having gotten our web site from GDF (Guide Dog Foundation). Paige is also a puppy raiser for GDF. It should be a fun evening.
